Alex Rocha is a session upright and electric bass player based in Rio de Janeiro. He got a Latin Grammy Award for his contribution on singer Emílio Santiago’s live CD “Só Danço Samba ao vivo” , winner on 2012. Alex can play in many styles like Bossa Nova, Latin, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Samba, R’n’B, Rock, Funk, and many more.His 30 years career as a session player includes credits with artists like Milton Nascimento, Leila Pinheiro, Toninho Horta, Wagner Tiso, José Roberto Bertrami ( Azymuth) and brazilian blues-rock leg end Celso Blues Boy.
Alex also worked as columnist for the brazilian edition of Bass Player magazine (2012-2017) and got his Master Degree in Music at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State (UNIRIO).
